The Department of Recreation & Wellness strives to be a wellness leader on Clayton State University's campus and works with a number of other departments in order to provide wellness programming and resources for the Clayton State University community.
NEW! Meditation 101
The Department of Recreation & Wellness has added a meditation class in collaboration with CAPS which is an inclusive class. Meditation 101 is focused on guiding you through mediation and breathing exercises. This class is great for anyone, whether you are completely new to meditation or have participated in guided meditation in the past. The class is 45 minutes long and usually consists of 3-4 guided meditation exercises during that time. Recreation & Wellness also works with The Disability Resource Center to modify programs as necessary.
Classes are held in Studio B at the SAC on Thursdays from 1:15-2:00pm
Employee Wellness Committee
The Mission of the Employee Wellness Council is to increase wellness opportunities among Clayton State University employees through education and awareness and to foster positive attitudes toward healthier lifestyles that improve one’s quality of life. The Employee Wellness Council is comprised of employees from all across the campus representing every major division within the university. Our hope is to serve the campus as ambassadors for wellness. In short, we aspire to encourage all employees to make their personal health and wellness a top priority. Wellness on Wheels Outreach Program (WOW)
Wellness on Wheels (WOW) is a specialty wellness program designed as an outreach to CSU students, faculty, and staff. Are you looking for a way to get your department more active? What about making that next organization or departmental meeting more interesting and fun? WOW can provide fitness classes, wellness and nutrition presentations, Q&A sessions and even wellness assessments for your student organization, group, department, or college. You select the activity your group would like to participate in, schedule a date, time, and location and we'll bring our services to you. WOW uses student volunteers from health-related majors as well as certified student personal trainers to complete all assessments. For more info on scheduling an event with the Wellness on Wheels campus outreach program for your department or organization, please contact Evelyn Burttram.
