NEW! Meditation 101
The Department of Recreation & Wellness has added a meditation class in collaboration with CAPS which is an inclusive class. Meditation 101 is focused on guiding you through mediation and breathing exercises. This class is great for anyone, whether you are completely new to meditation or have participated in guided meditation in the past. The class is 45 minutes long and usually consists of 3-4 guided meditation exercises during that time. Recreation & Wellness also works with The Disability Resource Center to modify programs as necessary.
Laker Walking/Jogging Group - Weekly
The Laker Walking/Jogging group is a collaboration with the Dept. of Recreation & Wellness and the Health and Fitness Management program within the College of Health. It was created to offer weekly opportunities for students and members of the Clayton State University Community to get together on a weekly basis, get outside and get active! New Student/Member Fitness Orientations - Ongoing
Want some exercise guidance? We’re here to help! The Recreation and Wellness Department offers all incoming freshmen and new transfer students SAC Fitness Center orientations during their first semester at Clayton State. If you are a new member of the SAC or an upperclassmen who is unfamiliar with the SAC, we also offer fitness center orientations by appointment, at least 24 hours in advance. During these one-on-one orientations a Fitness Assistant will guide you through the facility and give you the opportunity to learn and ask any questions you might have about the exercise machines and free weights. If you are unfamiliar with the machines, the Fitness Assistants will help you set them up and teach you how to properly use the equipment. Fitness Orientations are FREE to students and members of the SAC.
Schedule your free fitness orientation by contacting Spenser Emerson.
*Please note that fitness orientations are not lead by personal trainers and should not be mistaken for personal training sessions. Fitness Assistants will not provide workout plans, fitness assessments or nutrition advice. Please see our personal training page for information on scheduling a fitness assessment or purchasing personal training sessions.
