III. Statement of and Progress on Objectives for
FY 2005/06

1.To renovate the available Student Center
space to facilitate efficient delivery of healthcare services in the
University Health Services |
-Need space to provide confidential healthcare
and to expand services to include women’s health SPT- #7, #4
-Increase in amount of services to meet the
need of increased enrollment SPT -#1

-Develop a plan for space which meets ADA
requirements and service expansion
-Seek consultation with ACHA to facilitate
determining the best use of space/ resources
-Renovate space as funds become available |
Fiscal –money funding
Human- full time staffing, consultant from ACHA,
collaboration with a women’s health NP
Physical- bathroom, sinks in each exam
room, confidential exam room, all space meet the ADA requirements |
After space is renovated, then implementation
of the programs/services will enhance student life, student
retention and image & marketing of the clinic. |

2.To provide women’s healthcare and
immunization vaccine services |
-Add women’s health care services
-Offer Immunization services to meet the need
of the new incoming students
-Quality of care and instruction

-Develop a plan to promote services to female
students
-Admission office notify incoming students of
immunization services availability
-Provide RN students with a new clinical
practicum site
-Collaborate with other NP & nursing faculty to
provide instruction/clinical practice
-Director to train admission staff to
effectively evaluate Immunizations paperwork
mailed to Admissions |
Fiscal- money for training, marketing &
computer technology-std fees/ fee for service cost
Human- full staffing-RN and
collaboration with a Clayton County Nurse practitioner, RN students,
collaboration with the admission office staff
Physical- adequate space to provide the
services |
Success of this fully implemented women’s
health services/ Immunization services will be determined by high
patient utilization & satisfaction rating from surveys thus
enhancing the university’s goal of expanding programs

3. To secure fiscal resources by obtaining a
$10 additional health fee in order to provide adequate acute primary
healthcare service to the Clayton State University students and fee for services income |
-Create stable finances for the Clinic

of fee increase
-Continue fee for services
-utilize monies to secure contract PT
psychiatrist

4. To provide clinical practicum
experiential learning at the University Health Services for undergraduate
R.N., generic nursing students and Healthcare Management students
|
-Provide health promotion, community & primary
care experience for the students via the Flu shot campaign, Breast
Cancer awareness campaign and the Annual Health fair. Promote
services available in the NMC.

-Precept generic and RN Nursing students every
semester
-Precept healthcare management students in the

-Human- nursing and healthcare

-Evaluation by preceptor and students of the
experience and performance of the student.
- Success of this experience will be determined
by high student evaluations of the experience thus enhancing the
University’s goal of enhancing the quality of instruction. |

5. To enhance NMC services with the
implementation and use medical software and fiscal register
capabilities |
-Implementation of training on the medical
software and the cash register- SPT- #1, #2, # 6 |
-Software placed on 3 computers
-1 cash register secured with the links card
utilization for financial transactions and student enrollment
verification |
-Fiscal- money for computer maintenance
of software.

6. To provide Community service to the Clayton State University
and Clayton County community |
-Implementation of Annual Women’s Health Fair
-advertise via Clayton County newspaper and
Health focus magazine
-Provide annual flu shots

-Collaboration with community agencies in the
community to facilitate the health fair
-Nursing students to assist with providing
blood pressure screenings, cholesterol checks and flu shots |
