I. Mission
Statement:
The mission of the Office of
University Relations is to increase the awareness, understanding,
visibility, appreciation and positive image of “Clayton State … Your
University … in Atlanta’s Southern Crescent.” The office supports the
mission and goals of Clayton State University by facilitating efforts of the Boards of Directors
of the Clayton State University Foundation and the Clayton State University Alumni Association, as well as working
with other University related groups to increase fundraising wherever
possible.
II. Statement
of Long-Range Goals:
Decrease Clayton State University Foundation reliance on Clayton State University for staff support
Aimed at increasing financial stability, this goal will serve to
redirect funding into other initiatives of Clayton State University. Realizing that this will
not be completely accomplished all at once, the goal will be to cover ˝ of
one position per year.
Decrease Clayton State University Alumni Association reliance
on Clayton State University for operational funding
Once again aimed at increasing financial stability, this goal will serve
to redirect funding from alumni association operations into other
initiatives of Clayton State University.
Regular contact with alumni
Establish a name for the quarterly publication, publish the distribution
dates, and solicit the alumni association to sell advertising in order to
offset publication costs. This goal is tied to the theme of image/marketing
and advertising.
Assist the Clayton State University Foundation in fundraising
efforts, specifically to establish faculty development funds
Tied to the theme of quality of instruction, as well as expanded
academic programs, fundraising effort will be directed towards acquiring
funds to support faculty development.
Increase and update alumni database
Secure funding, or work with student interns, to get correct address and
telephone on existing alumni database, as well as to expand the database
with graduates who are not in our system
