Parents/guests are welcome and encouraged to attend the orientation program along with their students. There is an orientation fee for guests that must be paid at the same time the student’s reservation is made. New students are expected to register family/guest members during their on-line registration process. All fees are nonrefundable; please ensure that your parent(s) or guest(s) will be in attendance for the program before submitting your registration and payment.
Parents/Guests who attend Transfer or Nontraditional Orientation Sessions: Due to time constraints, a formal parent/guest program does not occur during these sessions. Excluding the advisement and registration segment of the program (typically toward the end of the program), you will have the opportunity to participate in all morning sessions with your student. Please note that you may have an extended wait while your student completes advisement and registration.
Parents/Guests who attend Freshman Sessions: You will have the opportunity to participate in some sessions with and others without your student. Parents/guests will also have an opportunity to participate in the pre-advising session of the program which allows families to meet and interact with advisors. Thereafter, students are expected to complete the follow-up/registration session with their advisor independently. We are pleased to offer concurrent sessions for parents and guests during freshman and dual enrollment programs.
Special accommodations will be provided upon request for anyone with disabilities. Please contact Disability Services at (678) 466-5445 at least 72 hours PRIOR to your scheduled orientation session.
