The peer tutor coordinator/instructor position is a grant funded position acquired through the Nursing Workforce Diversity continuation grant. The position involves the development, coordination and maintenance of all aspects and phases of a peer tutoring program at the School of Nursing as well as facilitating the existing Strategies of Success II and III online courses.
The peer tutoring program will provide those students who are having academic and clinical difficulty with the learning strategies that can assist them in their studies. The peer tutors are nursing students that have a GPA of a B and have a strong knowledge base of a subject in which they will be tutoring. The program will provide assistance in course work and in clinical. Tutoring will be available on a one on one or group basis. Appointment for tutoring is encouraged, however, drop ins are welcome. Those students that are interested in becoming a peer tutor will need to contact the Peer Tutor Coordinator for more information and for an application.
