The Clayton State University Student Activities Center (SAC), opened in 2008, is the hub of extracurricular activities for the University. While much of its use is dedicated to the students, the facility does get some use from outside organizations and individuals. However, there have been reports recently of an unusual user of the showers in the SAC.
Fortunately, Clayton State Chief of Police Bobby Hamil says the Clayton State Office of Public Safety is on top of the situation.
“Public Safety has been receiving a rash of reported sightings of an odd looking person/creature around campus lately. The sightings have occurred at different times of the day and week and at various locations. No pattern of activity has developed,” he reports. “Thus far, there have been no reports of any threatening actions by the person/creature, but we ask that any similar sightings should be reported to our office as soon as possible for officer response. We also caution against any acts of bravado in confronting the `thing.’ Although the presence of odd looking persons/creatures on a college campus is not unique in itself, this sighting is apparently extraordinary and has caused some concern.
“Our focus as always is the safety and comfort of our campus community.”
Following last week’s report of a new Loch in Clayton State’s Swan Lake, speculation is rampant on campus that the recent visitor to the SAC was Loch. The possibility exists that, after emerging from the lake, Loch was seeking a place to clean up, and found the showers at the SAC.
Investigative work on the new Loch is on-going. A new email address, firstname.lastname@example.org, has been set up to report any new sightings, so stay tuned for further information. Speculation has it that the new Loch may be waiting for Clayton State’s Homecoming (Feb. 18) to make an official appearance.
