Clayton State University Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management & Academic Success Dr. Mark F. Daddona has announced the July 1, 2014 appointment of Stephen Jenkins as Director of Undergraduate Recruitment & Admissions at Clayton State.

Jenkins comes to Clayton State from Mercer University in Atlanta, where he was Director of Admissions in the Office of Enrollment Management for the College of Continuing and Professional Studies, now Penfield College of Mercer University.

"I am very excited to be here at Clayton State University,” he says. “I am continually energized by the level of pride and campus spirit that resonates throughout this institution. I am delighted to be a part of an institution that offers relevant and in-demand academic programs designed to serve the needs of traditional freshmen students, and non-traditional adult students, all on one campus. I was attracted to Clayton State because it is a growing school with an excellent reputation but still so much unrealized potential. This school serves approximately 7,000 students, and has one of the most diverse student bodies in the Southern United States, and I am committed to help expose it to all of Georgia and beyond.”

Jenkins responsibilities at Clayton State will include coordinating, managing, and supervising all components of the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment & Admissions as well as developing, updating and implementing the University’s annual strategic recruitment and marketing plan in collaboration with other campus stakeholders. Said plan will include goals for expanding market segments and new student bases for the University.

Jenkins will also identify annual recruitment targets for specific populations, plan, develop, and implement recruitment strategies, and represent the university to external agencies and institutions, prospective students and their parents, both on-campus and in the community.

During his six years at Mercer, Jenkins also served as Director of Recruitment for the School of Business and Economic and as an Associate Director of Admissions and Marketing. Prior to coming to Mercer, he served as the Associate Director of High School Markets for American InterContinental University.

Jenkins holds a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management from Mercer, and a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Morehouse College.
