Clayton State University’s world-famous Spivey Hall is excited to launch its 2012/13 Young People’s Concert season next month. As always, the Young People’s Concerts will feature a variety of classical, world music, jazz, and early childhood education concerts.
The season opening-program will be on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 9:45 a.m., featuring a thrilling world music performance by Via Romen! This vibrant group will present Russian-Romany (“gypsy”) music on native instruments including guitar, violin, accordion, and bass. In addition to outstanding music, audiences will also be treated to the flashy footwork of gypsy dance and traditional costumes. Students (and anyone else who wants a world music experience) can go around the world for only $2 a person. For more information on this performance, go to http://www.spiveyhall.org/young-peoples-concerts/via-romen.
