Clayton State University’s Sherwin E. James, College of Business professional academic advisor and major mentor coordinator, was recognized at the 2013 Annual Awards Program for Academic Advising at the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, Ut., as the 2013 Commission and Interest Group (CIG) Service Award winner for Advising Specific Populations I Cluster for contributions to Advising Student Athletes Commission.
The CIG Service Award is presented to a NACADA member who has provided outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to a specific commission, interest group, cluster or the CIG Division.
James was also provided with a Certificate of Appreciation for his leadership and service to NACADA as chair of the Advising Student Athletes Commission from 2011 through 2013.

NACADA is dedicated to the support and professional growth of academic advisors, faculty advisors, advising administrators, and the advising profession.
