MBA in Human Resource Leadership ranked in top ten for best HR MBA program
Clayton State University’s MBA program was ranked one of the top 10 master’s programs with an emphasis human resources at the 2017 Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) Awards.
The University ranked #4 for its MBA in Human Resource Leadership program.
"I am thrilled that Clayton State's MBA in Human Resource Leadership program has been honored with this wonderful recognition of being ranked among the top 10 programs in the country,” said Dr. Avinandan Muhkerjee, dean of the College of Business. “This accolade is indicative of the outstanding faculty we have and their commitment to providing an exceptional education to our MBA-HR graduate students.”
The 20-month, fast track MBA program is pursued by students from a range of disciplines, from experienced professionals seeking to advance their careers, recent college graduates getting ready to enter the job market to international students seeking a world class education. The program is AACSB accredited and aligned with the mission of the Society of Human Resource Management.
“To become an HR leader, our Clayton State MBA focuses on thinking strategically in areas such as employee training, career development, talent development, succession planning, coaching and mentoring,” said Dr. Margaret Thompson, professor of management. “Students learn how to identify organizational needs, and to design, implement and evaluate programs in engaging, creative, and innovative ways.”
Recently, MBA students in the human resource leadership concentration worked on HR consulting projects assigned by Kevin Charles, managing partner at Resurgia Health Solutions, according to Assistant Professor of Management Dr. Leon Prieto.
"We do a good job ensuring that our students gain hands on experience working with large corporations and small businesses,” Prieto said. “Those real-world assignments will no doubt prepare our students to reach their full potential in their respective careers, and it is satisfying to know that Clayton State is now recognized as a leader in preparing its students for careers in human resources."
LEAD is an annual, two-day leadership event that attracts human resource leadership professionals together to network and gain valuable insight into the human resource industry.
