He’s Coming to the Homecoming Pep Rally February 17
Conclusively proving he does exist, and he’s not a groundhog, Clayton State University’s new Loch mascot appeared out of Swan Lake today to send a text message to Laker basketball coaches Gordon Gibbons and Dennis Cox.
While he didn’t say if he saw his shadow, or even if there was any significance to his timing, coming a day before Groundhog Day, Loch did promise both coaches that he would make his first official appearance on Friday, Feb. 17, at the Homecoming Pep Rally, which will be held starting at noon in the Commons area of the James M. Baker University Center.
“ill b there,” promised Loch in his text, possibly channeling Michael Jackson more than Punxsutawney Phil. Loch also confirmed that he has joined the official Teondre Williams and Tanisha Woodard Fan Clubs. “go 0, 11 rules,” he texted.
While Loch will not make his official debut until Feb. 17, it is still possible that he might be seen hanging out around campus prior to that date. All students, faculty and staff are urged to be on the lookout, and to welcome Loch if he should be encountered prior to Feb. 17. In the interim, expect more Loch and Homecoming information as it becomes available.
