New Security Gates at Clayton Station
The University has installed new security gates at two entrances to the Clayton Station Apartments.
The locations are the two middle entrances on North Lake Street. These are very visible black and yellow chain link gates, with “Do not enter” signs attached that will only be in place during the late evening to early morning hours. When not in place, these entrances can still be used.
The purpose for these gates is to add another security measure to the apartment complex that currently is easily accessible to the general public 24/7. When the gates are in place, all vehicular traffic will have to enter and exit either at the main entrance next to the clubhouse on North Lake or at the Harper Drive entrance.

Announcements
Class Attendance During First Two Weeks of Summer Semester
It is imperative that you attend class during the first week and no later than the second week of the semester. A registered student who does not attend at least one class session in each course by Thursday, June 5 is a “no show.” If you are enrolled in an online course, the instructor will provide details on how online attendance will be verified.
Registration will be cancelled for any course in which a student is submitted to the Registrar’s Office as a “no show.” The “no show” student will not be charged tuition for the cancelled course. However, there may be serious financial aid consequences for students who are receiving financial aid, since this will reduce the number of enrolled credit hours. The complete No Show Policy including the appeal process is available at http://www.clayton.edu/registrar/noshowpolicy. In the event you are reported as a no show, it will be extremely difficult to get reinstated in class as indicated in the policy. Please do not let this happen to you.
The complete summer academic calendar is available at http://www.clayton.edu/calendar.
Request from Public Safety – Enter Your Number in the Text Message Data Bank
When there is an emergency situation that could impact the safety of our campus, whether it be a human threat or weather related, we send out notifications mainly by email and text message.
Since many of you probably see the text messages much quicker than the emails, it is essential that everyone who has a telephone capable of receiving text messages enter your number into the University system to ensure that you receive the messages. It is an “opt in” system, which means that you have to personally enter your number. As a reminder, the process is very easy and quick:
· Go to the Clayton State University website
· Click on the “Swan”
· Click on “My Tab”
· Scroll down to “Emergency Text Messages” and enter your telephone number and the communications carrier (e.g. Verizon, AT&T, or other)
· Then hit “Save” and you’re done.
It’s that easy, so if you haven’t already done so, please do so now, or if you have changed numbers or carriers since last entered, please update now.
