The SWAN is Down
We are currently experiencing problems with the SWAN. In other words, its goose is cooked, it’s dead duck. It’s a real turkey. Like an ostrich, it’s hiding its head in the sand. We are working to resolve these issues and will notify the campus when these services are restored.

Emergency Contacts Needed
As most of you know, we had a power outage on Sunday, Aug. 12 that affected most of the main campus. When this occurs, Public Safety tries to contact all those on the emergency notification list as soon as possible.
There may have been some changes since this list was last updated. Thus, would all faculty and staff who wish to be contacted when they or their equipment may be directly affected by a power outage, please make sure that Public Safety has all of your logical points of contact, including cell phone numbers.
Also, please update emergency contact numbers in Banner… many employees only have campus telephone numbers listed.
To update information on Banner… if you go to the directory page (http://apps.clayton.edu/directory
) there is a link at the bottom that takes you here (http://apps.clayton.edu/directory/changes
) which provides instructions on where to go to make changes to the directory.
You can also find this by typing “Directory Changes,” “Directory Modification” or some such phrase, in the search box from any page on our website. It will usually be the first link returned.
Thank you for your cooperation. This will make the notification process easier and quicker.
SubConnection Service – Grab and Go Until Further Notice

During the downtime SubConnection will be stocked with plenty of grab-n-go sandwiches and salads. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you for lunch soon.

Great Facts to Know
• Boots is a leading international pharmacy-led health & beauty retailer.
• 2009 marked the 160th Anniversary of when John Boot, the herbalist, opened his first store in Goose Gate, Nottingham. He may not have been around to celebrate, but you can at The Loch Shop on Aug. 21
• Boots products are not tested on animals. Through our unique development facility and the millions of women and men who trust boots, all products are tested on people to ensure each and every product provides the desired results before offering into stores… more than 200,000 men and women… to assess product performance on different skin types and in different environmental conditions.
• Boots developed Ibuprofen in 1960, which was patented in 1961. Boots was awarded the Queen's Award for Technical Achievement for the development of the drug in 1987.
• Boots’ first Royal Warrant was granted to Baron Trent, of the Boots Pure Drug Company, on Jan. 1, 1942. Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to companies who’ve regularly supplied products to the Royal Household. (So you can ask the Queen, if you happen to run into her.) They are regarded as a mark of excellence and quality, and are highly prized.
• No 7 is the number one cosmetics and skin care brand in the UK; one in three women in the UK have a No7 product in their makeup bag. (We checked on the crowds at the Olympics – it’s true.)
