Everyone who has had a son or daughter apply to college knows there is a lot of competition among the top institutions, competition to get the best students.
Clayton State University is no different than any other university in its desire to attract the best and brightest. And, since Clayton State is the place where dreams are made real, Director of Recruitment and Admissions
Betty Momayezi recently came up with a clever way to reinforce that impression on potential Clayton State freshmen.
It’s a common practice for colleges to send admitted students items like flash drives, or laundry bags, or sunglasses, or T-shirts. But, think about it… if you’re emphasizing that Clayton State is dreams made real, what better way to get that message across than with… a “Dreams Made Real” pillowcase?
“What a better thing for us to send than a pillowcase with `Dreams Made Real’ for them to use in their rooms at Laker Hall,” asks Momayezi, noting that incoming freshman at Clayton State live in the five-year old Laker Hall residence hall. “And, I don’t have to worry about sizes! It’s literally a `case’ of one size fits all.”
The “Dreams Made Real” pillowcases are mailed to all admitted freshmen 10 days after they’ve been admitted to Clayton State. Also included with the pillowcase is a handy checklist on things that admitted students need to do before their first day of class. And, thus far, the pillowcases appear to be a hit, they’re already appearing on Instagram.
Momayezi expects to be doing a lot of traffic in pillow cases over the next three weeks – Clayton State’s application and document deadline for the fall 2013 semester is Monday, July 15, 2013.
