Melanie Poudevigne, Ph.D., FACSM, tenured professor and program director in health and fitness management, was recognized for achieving Certified Consultant status of the Association for Applied Psychology (CC-AASP) at the annual conference in Indianapolis this month. The Association for Applied Sport Psychology is an international professional organization that promotes the development of science and ethical practice in the field of sport psychology.
Obtaining the CC-AASP credential involves completing extensive educational requirements along with a minimum of 400 hours of mentored and applied experience with an extensive evaluation process. Dr. Poudevigne is an accreditation team leader for the Committee of Accreditation for programs in Exercises Sciences (CoAES) and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as well as an ACSM consultant and international presenter for the International subcommittee of the Certification and Credentialing Review Board (CCRB). She is responsible to teach and promote Exercise Physiology Certifications around the world and has given more than 100 workshops and presentations throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East for the American College of Sports Medicine in the past decade.
