Clayton State’s undergraduate nursing program recently made the top 10 list for Most Affordable Nursing Degrees in Georgia, according to College Choice.
The University ranked no. 9 for its Bachelor of Science in nursing program and online RN-BSN program.
Researchers pointed to the University’s average tuition of $5,340 coupled with programs accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and international partnerships to create study abroad opportunities for students as strong indicators of the value a nursing degree from Clayton State offers.
The state of Georgia currently has an estimated 73,330 active registered nurses (RNs), according to College Choice. The mean hourly wage in the state is $31.13, which is yields $64,750 in annual salary.
With the increased demand for nurses in the state and the country in general, these figures may grow. An estimated 16 percent new RN jobs will appear between 2014 and 2024, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
