Clayton State University’s MBA program was ranked one of the top 15 master’s programs with an emphasis in human resources at HR.com’s 2018 LEAD Awards held in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 7th and 8th.
Clayton State ranked #3 for its MBA in Human Resource Leadership program.
“This is a great achievement for the Human Resources Leadership (HRL) program, our most recent MBA concentration. We launched the HRL program 4 years back and it is already one of the most popular concentration among MBA students,” said Dr. Jacob Chacko, dean of the College of Business. “The success of the Human Resources Leadership program and its students is attributed to our HR and leadership faculty members who practice what they preach by coaching and mentoring their students in the program.”
The MBA concentration in Human Resource Leadership is pursued by students from a range of disciplines, from experienced professionals seeking to advance their careers, to recent college graduates getting ready to enter the job market. The program is AACSB accredited and SHRM-Approved, meaning the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) competencies are built into the curriculum.
Recently, MBA students in the Human Resource Leadership concentration worked on an HR consulting project assigned by Troy Felder, HR Manager at Genuine Parts Company.
Dr. Leon Prieto, associate professor of Management, Dr. Leon Prieto, said "it's a great feeling to see a program that I helped develop a few years ago get recognized by HR.com,” Prieto said. “We partner with industry professionals to ensure that our students work on real-world assignments to help them reach their full potential in their respective careers, and it is satisfying to know that Clayton State is recognized once again as a leader in preparing its students for careers in human resources."
