It’s an opportunity for all Clayton State students who are would-be thespians and musicians… a chance to audition for the Clayton State Division of Music and the Clayton State Theatre’s fall 2013 and spring 2014 productions.
On Apr. 15, the Division of Music and the Clayton State Theatre will hold general auditions for their upcoming shows. Yes, auditions open to all ClaytonState students, not just Theatre and Music majors.
The general auditions for the upcoming productions in the Theatre Program and the Division of Music in the Visual & Performing Arts Department, will be held on Monday, Apr. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the Harry S. Downs Center Atrium and room 101. The media is welcome to cover the auditions, which will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“General auditions will give us an opportunity to see all the wonderful talent across campus. Talk about dreams made real,” says Clayton State Theatre Director Shontelle Thrash.
The auditions will be for the following productions…
The fall 2013 theatre program: 10 Minute Play Festival -- this will consist of a number of 10 minute vignettes where actors may play more than one role. Music: OPERAtion ENSEMBLE, an exploration of ensemble scenes from four centuries of the opera repertoire.
The spring 2014 theatre program: Illusion
by Tony Kushner. Music: The Boys from Syracuse
, a 1938 Broadway musical hit by Rodgers and Hart based on Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors.
The auditions will consist of monologues, singing and dancing (depending on the individual’s area of interest.)
