Clayton State Students get an Overview of Higher Education in Paris

May 21 2015

Clayton State students gathered in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris as part of the University's 2015 Maymester Abroad trip in France.

Assistant Professor of Teacher Education Dr. Erica Dotson reports, "we stopped for a photo as we were touring the Latin Quarter of Paris, exploring  the evolution of education from the the Middle Ages to the present. The tour culminated with a seminar at La Sorbonne, the second oldest university in Europe, where our students met with university administrators who provided them with an overview of higher education in France with an emphasis on teacher training and certification."

Next, Study Abroad France will shift gears and head to the immigrant neighborhoods of northern Paris to focus on the changing face of immigration.

"The students are enjoying the experience and making profound connections between course readings and their experiences in-country," says Dotson.
