Clayton State University will celebrate Women’ History Month next week with four public events on Mar. 18, Mar. 19, Mar. 20 and Mar. 21, highlighted by the Third Annual Women’s Inspirational Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, Mar. 21.

Have you ever wondered if a “coke bottle” shape or a size four was the standard of beauty around the world? Have you ever wondered if feet binding, neck stretching, or torso elongating are cultural differences or cultural deviance? If any of these topics interest you or even if you would just like to expand your knowledge of cultural beauty around the world along with prominent historical women in society, D.E.E.P. Educators and the Clayton State Office of International Programs present a Cultural Beauty Museum. Contact Whitney Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org
for more information.
On Tuesday, Mar. 19, it’s the “She Cares Community Service” project in the Multipurpose Room of Laker Hall, noon to 2 p.m. “She Cares Community Service” will be collecting items for Clayton County Association Against Family Violence, also known as Securus House. All Clayton State departments, offices, and student organizations have been asked to collect toiletry items for women. On Mar. 19, the She Cares Community Service event will take place in the Laker Hall Multipurpose Room with a dialogue as we create bags for all the women at Securus House.

Student Activities Center (SAC) Ballroom A, on Wednesday, Mar. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The “Reality of a Woman Forum” calls attention to the portrayal of women on reality television shows and social media. This interactive forum will evoke discussions of ways women can recognize that reality television is not the only societal factor that contributes to the image of the 21st
century woman and how women can promote civility although major media suggest it can’t be done. This forum is sponsored by D.E.E.P. Peer Educators, Clayton State Housing and Residence Life, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Contact Sims or Smith for more information.
