Clayton State Schedules Candidate Information Forum and Meet the Candidates Night, Oct. 21
In advance of the upcoming general election, Clayton State University has set aside Tuesday, Oct. 21 as an entire day when students, faculty, staff and the general public can obtain information direct from the candidates and/or their representatives. A Candidate Information Forum will he held at mid-day and a Meet the Candidates Night will start at 6 p.m.
The Candidate Information Forum will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main Street in the James M. Baker University Center. Invitations have been extended to candidates running for Governor, State Attorney General, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Labor, U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate. During this information session these representatives will be passing out information and answering questions about their respective candidates.
Currently scheduled to appear for the Candidate Information Forum are representatives of candidates Greg Hecht (Attorney General), Robbin Shipp (Commissioner of Labor), Andrew Hunt (Governor), Jason Carter (Governor), Brian Kemp (Secretary of State), Tom Wight (U.S. House of Representatives), and Amanda Swafford (U.S. Senate). Additional attendees are pending.
The Meet the Candidates Night runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in room UC272 of the James M. Baker University Center. During the evening session, the candidates will be making short speeches and will take questions.
