Clayton State University President Dr. Thomas J. “Tim” Hynes, Jr., graces the pages of the current issue of the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC) as part of that weekly publication’s annual “Who’s Who in Education” issue.
Hynes is in good company among the 100 leaders thus profiled. As the Business Chronicle notes in its introduction to the special insert, “Each year we offer a glance at some of the top leaders in the broad education field – those who lead our top universities and colleges, our private schools and our technical colleges, along with those who represent us through top government posts.”
In short the special section provides a “guide to the leaders shaping our education system.”
Hynes officially began his tenure as the interim president of Clayton State University on May 18, 2009, following the resignation of President Dr. Thomas Harden, who was appointed chancellor of the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. On Feb. 9, 2010, University System of Georgia (USG) Chief Academic Officer Susan Herbst announced that the USG Board of Regents had approved the permanent appointment of Hynes as president of Clayton State University.
