What better person to help organize a charity yard sale to benefit Shining Light Ministries than someone who knows all the ins and outs of financial aid?
That would be Clayton State University Director of Financial Aid Pat Barton, one of the organizers of the Fourth Annual Yard Sale for the Benefit of Shining Light Ministries.
The Fourth Annual Yard Sale, will be held at Bethany Baptist Church, 4 Bethany Rd., McDonough, Ga., on Friday, Apr. 20 and Saturday, Apr. 21, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Barton, who takes the University’s commitment to civic engagement personally, is a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
“I have seen firsthand what a difference this ministry has made in the lives of these ladies. My heart was just moved to be a part of making a difference even if it is a small part,” she says.
Shining Light Ministries is a non-profit, 12-month residential program with two housing facilities that treats drug addicts and alcoholics.
Barton also adds that donations are needed for the yard sale. To arrange for drop-offs for donations, contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
