In honor of the inauguration of Clayton State University’s fourth president, Dr. Thomas J. “Tim” Hynes, Jr., the University’s College of Health will be sponsoring a community health fair on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010. Both of the college’s health care provider services – the Dental Hygiene Clinic and University Health Services -- will be involved in the day’s activities, which track to the theme of Hynes’ inauguration, “ A Commitment to Learning and Service.”
The Department of Dental Hygiene will be providing oral health screenings in the Dental Hygiene Clinic, located on the first floor of the Student Center, by appointment only. Appointments can be made for 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. by calling the Dental Hygiene Clinic at (678) 466-4920.
University Health Services (UHS) will be offering a free Heart-Saver CPR course for members of the community. The course will begin at 9 a.m. in Ballrooms A and B of the Student Activity Center (SAC). Course space is limited. UHS, with the help of the School of Nursing faculty and students, will also be offering free cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure screenings from 9 a.m. to noon in Ballroom C of the SAC. Flu shots will also be available during this time as well. Flu shots are only $15 (a savings of $5.00) during the time of the health fair.
