Dr. Alphonso Ogbuehi, dean of the College of Business at Clayton State University, has been selected to give the Distinguished Visiting Professor Lecture at the University of Nigeria’s Nsukka Alvan Ikoku College in June.
Ogbuehi’s lecture will be titled, "Higher Education Investment as a Catalyst for Economic Development and Wealth Creation in Developing Countries" In addition to presenting the Distinguished Visiting Professor Lecture, Ogbuehil will be participating in series of meetings and workshops as part of a program that culminates with the lecture on June 28.
“I am truly honored by this recognition and look forward to my lecture on higher education as a catalyst for economic development and wealth creation in developing countries,” says Ogbuehi, himself a native of Nigeria. ”The University of Nigeria Nsukka is one of the most prestigious universities in Africa.”
Included among the audience members at Ogbuehi’s lecture will be leaders from the state government, civic community, academics from several universities in the area, and students.
Ogbuehi also believes that his trip will afford Clayton State opportunities to explore collaborations to boost foreign student enrollment from Nigeria.
