Dear Campus Community,
A number of individuals and family members within the Clayton State University community are being adversely affected during this time Those impacted are dealing with long furloughs without pay, food insecurities, and worries about upcoming tuition payments.
As we prepare for our annual Give4Dreams campaign on March 14th, these impacted members of our Clayton State family are wondering how they make it to the end of the month. There are two ways that you can directly help those most affected.
The first is through a donation to the Student Emergency Fund, which will provide a prepaid gift card so that those affected can purchase groceries and other necessities. The second is a gift of non-perishable foods, toiletries, and other pantry items to the Laker Care Closet. If you are considering a gift of food items please think in terms of meal prep (i.e. pasta & sauce).
Donated items for the Laker Care Closet may be dropped off at the Student Activities Center (SAC) or the 2nd Floor of Woodlands Hall (buildings 22 and 23 on the campus map) from 8-9:30 a.m. and from 3:30-5:30 pm.
If you know a member of the Clayton State family who is struggling, inquiries into the Student Emergency Fund can be made by contacting Jeff Jacobs, Dean of Students, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Those seeking the assistance from the Laker Care Closet can email email@example.com with a description of food and item needs.
Please know that each individual’s situation and circumstances are treated with care, respect, and confidentiality.
