The Clayton State University Library has announced changes to the university catalog:
The Clayton State University Library recently underwent a renovation that transformed our physical space and improved our ability to serve you, our patrons. Now, we are working on another project that will help us serve you better.
Along with other libraries in the University System of Georgia, Clayton State is in the final stages of a project to implement a new Integrated Library System (ILS). An Integrated Library System is a fancy name for what we use to keep track of the items we own and who has them checked out.
Most of the changes will be behind the scenes and will not impact you at all. For patrons of our library, the most noticeable effects of this project will be a new look to our catalog. Starting May 26th, 2017, all item searches will be redirected to our new online catalog, currently accessible here: http://gilfind.clayton.edu/
Additional information will be provided periodically over the next few months to help you prepare for this transition. For now, here are a few items of note:
First, you will be able to use Clayton State’s Office 365 authentication system to log in and create a personalized searching experience without having to remember additional passwords or PIN numbers.
Second, you will continue to have access to GIL Express, the innovative resource sharing initiative that allows students, faculty, and staff access to eligible circulating material at all libraries within the University System of Georgia. Any changes or interruptions to this service will be detailed in upcoming communications.
Third, library staff are here to assist you with using the new catalog. We will offer support in person, through our ask-a-librarian channels, and with online tutorials. Faculty: Please consider inviting a librarian to your department meetings and classes to demonstrate the new catalog.
Last, access to specific library services could be impacted during the transition. These details will be shared with as much advanced notice as possible.
We have worked hard to plan ahead and test our new system as much as possible. However, it might be likely that last minute issues arise as we get closer to May and during our summer schedule. Thank you in advance for patience and collaboration on this endeavor.
