After years of dedicated work by University faculty, staff and students, and with an extraordinary partnership between campus, state and community leaders, we are excited that the new science building is nearing completion. This building will create a special environment in which scientific learning and discovery will take place and will help to foster scientific knowledge and skills upon which many of our graduates will depend.
This magnificent facility needs a name to reflect its functions, importance and relationship to other science facilities on campus (the Laboratory Annex Building and the Natural and Behavioral Sciences Building). For this purpose, a committee has been formed by Corlis Cummings, vice president of Business and Operations, and it has been charged with recommending at least three names for the new building.
The Committee decided to launch a campus-wide naming contest, and we would like to solicit input from you. Please send us your suggestion via this email address: NSBNamingCommittee@clayton.edu Each person is limited to submitting just one name with or without a rationale. The deadline for submitting a name is Apr. 20, 2015.
President Hynes and his cabinet will make the final selection. If your suggested name is chosen, then you will receive $50 and a prize from the College of Arts and Sciences. Winners of second and third place will receive $25 each.
