Five finalists for Clayton State University’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs will be on campus for interviews during the five weeks beginning on Thursday, Jan. 29.
The finalists and dates for the visits to campus are listed below:
Dr. Vann Newkirk is Dean of the Graduate School/Associate Provost and Professor of History at Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University in Normal, Ala.
Feb. 5-6, 2015
Dr. Kevin Demmitt is Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Sociology at Clayton State University in Morrow, Ga.
Feb. 12-13, 2015
Dr. Clarenda Phillips serves as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Professor of Sociology at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky.
Feb. 17-18, 2015
Dr. Lynda Brown-Wright is Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professor in the Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Feb. 23-24, 2015

The finalists will meet with various groups across campus, make a presentation, and participate in an open campus forum. The presentation time for all finalists will be 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. – location to be announced. Times and location for additional meetings will be announced as soon as the schedule is finalized.
The search committee members are excited about bringing the candidates to campus and encourage the campus community to take part in this critical stage of the process. Faculty, staff, and students who participate in various meetings during the visits will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the committee.
