Only 12 spots remain for aspiring songwriters of all levels of experience to take part in a unique workshop being offered by Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Registration for the Song Writing Workshop with Shana Tucker is just $10. A singer-songwriter and cellist who credits her genre-bending Chamber-Soul musical combination to the influences of 80s and 90s pop music, movie soundtracks, and world music, Tucker’s goal for the workshop is to give practical tools for participants to use that will help them express themselves through song. Tucker, who herself has both jazz and classical roots, will also be teaching the basic anatomy of song structure.
High school students, college students and adult singer/songwriters are all welcome to register at www.spiveyhall.org/educational-programs/shana-tuckersong-writing-workshop.
