The Clayton State University Department of Visual & Performing Arts presents the Clayton State University Jazz Combo, Stacey Houghton, director, in "JAM READY," popular favorites appropriate for a jam session, on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Spivey Hall at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The Clayton State Jazz Combo presents an evening of classic jazz and American standards that have remained popular with all audiences throughout many decades. Coincidentally, many of the composers on our program are also well-known jazz pianists, including Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Vince Guaraldi and Horace Silver -- the celebrated hard bop pianist and bandleader who passed away in June of this year, and whose music the jazz combo will pay special tribute.
Whether your favorite jazz flavor is swing, Latin, ballad, post-bop, or contemporary, the combo will have something for you!
