How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
As a member of the Clayton State University Homecoming Court, I will continue to make sure I let my leadership skills shine through. I will get even more involved on campus, remain dedicated to my academics, and remain a student that continually strives for excellence even in my behavior.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Clayton State University is helping me expand my horizons. Whether it be networking, gaining knowledge, making friends or just having an all around amazing college experience Clayton State University is helping me every step of the way to make my dreams come true both long term and short term. At Clayton state the professors are very helpful, and the campus security works hard to make sure we are in a safe environment for all students. All of this is what I imagined college to be and more.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
If elected, I plan to help making the change of Clayton state feel welcome to everyone. I've noticed that some people fee like outcasts in the school and that shouldn't be deemed as fair at all. I think our school should beat social norms of having "outcasts."

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
I, Tayla Reid, would represent Clayton State University as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court by inspiring Clayton State's motto, Dreams Made Real to my fellow peers. I would enjoy becoming an advocate of that motto by promoting through the initiatives that I follow: academics, leadership, campus involvement, and community service. Therfore my peers time at the Clayton State University will become beneficial and rewarding in the end

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Since entering as a freshman at Clayton State, I have been given opportunities and exposure to a variety of organizations that have guided me become a leader on campus. For example, our university's Student Government Associstion (SGA), has helped me interact and network with people from all classes, as well as, different departments on campus. Thus allowing me to build strong relations with campus leaders and develop long-lasting friendships.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
If elected as Miss Freshman, I plan to implement change by providing and promoting opportunities to my peers from academic endeavors and campus involvement to community service that not only Clayton State provides for us, but the community as well. I believe that a college campus can only grow and become impactful to the community, if the students are willing to put in the time and dedication so that work can be done.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
I would represent Clayton State University as Mr. Freshman, not a freshman that is know or popular, but recognized as an outstanding freshman in achievement, leadership, and example among my peers inside and outside of this university. I will uphold any responsibility honorously endowed upon me at my position and will blaze a trail for other freshman after me and make proud those who were honored before me.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
My dreams have come true at Clayton State University because of the tight-knit community it offers and how everyone lends a helping hand here. My dreams havent been overly achieved yet, but CSU allows for a step-by-step process of how i can, will, and ultimately do achieve said goals and aspirations. The different organizations have their own path and agendas, but do not mind extending their influences in to other areas for you to succeed and said organizations will all lead to success and will not disappoint or bore on the way through.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
I plan to implement change by helping freshman get rid of there excuses for not doing so well their first time. I would like to implement a freshman-friendly environment that somewhat speeds up the acclimated quicker and help them feel more responsible for their actions and not the professors or lack of understanding for their studies. I would like to get freshman excited to get involved, excited to study, excited to freshman in totality. Outside of helping freshman, i will look to establish more organizations for those seeking to hone their talents in their respected fields. I will look to host events that will look to get people out of their shells and will aspire others to not just be average, but be an exceptional student in watever endeavors they decide to take up while on campus.

Also, I plan to help fix the relationship between young women and men, which has become negative and full of disrespect on each ends; the young men need to learn respect and how to treat a woman in real life and on dates.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
I will represent Clayton State University by remaining true, involved and connected to the campus. The growth that I've experienced at Clayton State from my freshman year is the epitome of "Dreams. Made. Real".

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Clayton State University, has afforded with an opportunity to become an active and engaged student. When I first started at Clayton State, I was welcomed by Campus Life and began engaging in community service and that exposure opened doors for me to become involved in several organizations, from which I have served in leadership and those experiences have shaped me. I have become more empathetic and compassionate. Since being in organizations that have served as reminders to maintain high scholastic achievement. Since being at Clayton State, I believe that I am achieving a dream I never knew existed within me.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
If elected, I plan to continue to exemplify unity among campus student organizations and departments, by being present physically and by extending invitations for collaborations. I think that it is important to support activities that happen around campus, even if they do not first hand appeal to you. I believe that there is experience and learning in all things. I would like to work closely with groups on campus having started at Clayton State and having transitioned into the student leader I am, I understand the plight that comes from being a freshman, trying to become involved, trying to transition, being a non-traditional student not living on campus and not feeling involved. I would like to implement things that appeal to different populations that somehow connect us all, as Clayton State Lakers! Most of all I believe that it is important to be a familiar face with a down to earth and easy going spirit that people can relate to in some form.

I plan to represent Clayton State with much respect and dignity as the greatest college institution ever. I would continue to promote achievement on behalf of our student body and for our faculty as well. I would be honored to receive this opportunity to be a part of the royal court and display great sportsmanship and professionalism through this experience in its entirety.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
As a transfer student, Clayton State University has opened up many more doors for opportunity than I've seen before. The level of expectation for its students motivates us to achieve more, and continue to matriculate to the next level even after graduation. Within my first semester here at CSU, I became acquainted with many young professionals who were heavily involved in many organizations and I seen how much of a difference they were making within themselves as well as their community. I decided to join the wave myself and from that point on I saw myself in a different, service state of mind that without CSU, wouldn't have formed. Through all the connections via networking events, and graduation this upcoming May, I can truly say that Clayton State has made my dreams a reality.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
Upon election, one thing I would love to implement is a "Service Saturday's" monthly event in which on one Saturday out of each month CSU's Royal Court along with other CSU students go out in the community and serve as ambassadors for promoting positivity and community service. Another goal I want to want to achieve is to pilot a mentorship program for freshman and sophomores males called "Destined 2 Achieve" to help retain our freshman and sophomore males into upperclassmen and ultimately graduates of our institution. This program would provide the mentees with experienced guidance on the do's and don'ts of college, how to network on a professional scale, amongst other important aspects for them to learn to help make their college experience the best it can be.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
As a student of Clayton State University I always represent myself as scholarly, ambitious, while following the standard set forth by CSU Alums. As a member of the Homecoming Royal Court I will serve as a leader for the undergrad population. I will maintain my commitment to academic achievement while also establishing a model of true servant leadership in the Clayton County community.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
I am from a small town that is riddled with crime, drugs, gangs, unemployment, and high incarceration rates. I come from a single parent home which brought forth additional issues growing up. During high school the idea of attending a four year institution was impossible. However, because of faith and hard work I over came my former circumstances. Since being at Clayton State I have had the opportunity to volunteer in the marginalized Clayton County community. Civic engagement has taught me so much about my character and talents. I have been transformed into a leader of those without a voice because of my curriculum and experiences at Clayton State. Clayton State empowered me to accomplish my greatest goal which is to assist and advocate for the downtrodden. I can truly say with my experience from Clayton State I have accomplished my greatest goal; the goal to serve.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
Since being at Clayton State I have noticed that the homecoming Royal court positions are based off popularity. I will bring substance to the position. I will continue my service on campus and off campus. I will continue to strive for academic excellence in the classroom. I will look to empower and elevate the entire Clayton State population. I will do this by creating inclusive on campus programming. Consistently promoting civic engagement and community service, and by serving as a peer mentor to freshmen and sophomores. I seek to make the Royal Court a position with lofty standards and high expectations.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
I would represent the pride of my college. I would show what it means to be a Laker, and why it is important that students take pride in their school, and the joy it brings when you accomplish, and earn a degree from here. I would represent the love for the school, and spread among my colleagues to help them accomplish, and see the potential in their dreams and to always believe in themselves that they can make them a reality.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Clayton State University has ignited my passion to help others and to become a better leader of good things and not a follower of the wrong things. It has helped me to be able to help new incoming students see the leader in themselves, and to bring out the potential in them. Clayton has given me life long friends and mentors that have taught me that anything is possible and to never give up. Whatever I want I can achieve if I just believe.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
I plan to listen more to the students of here at Clayton State University, and to help research ways I can implement the things that the students want here at Clayton State University, and to be a voice for the students here. I will work hard to help increase the value of a Clayton State degree by networking with the community to help Clayton State University grow to eventually become the top premiere college in Georgia to attend. I take great pride in my school, and I will work to shine that pride wherever I go.
