How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
By exemplifying ethical behavior while embarking on the many vigorous opportunities Clayton State University has to offer, I believe I would be a great representation for Miss. Sophomore 2017. I want to challenge students to get involved and to set their standards as high as possible, so that failure will not be an option. By using my outgoing personality, open-minded, yet helpful advice, and compassionate nature, I believe I can carry this position with grace and elegance. I believe in uplifting others, while completing any task I've began. I want to be the voice of those who often are not heard, in order for the University to thrive as time progresses. I am looking towards the future, looking to inspire, and this opportunity will not do anything more but allow me to be the advocate I have always strived to be.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
The experience. From the Professors down to my peers. I've made so many remarkable, life-long friends, as well established bonds with my Professors, further making my experiences at Clayton State University worthwhile. Every time I think something may be impossible, I am always proven wrong. From underestimating courses to join various organizations, something seems to amaze me. I enrolled at Clayton State University in the Spring of 2016, and while only being here for a year, I've become a part of the lifelong organization of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. while cheering, and being involved in organizations all during my Freshman year of college. You cannot tell me that my dreams have not became a reality.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
By implementing change, I must be the change. I will ensure I'm always open to suggestions, constructive criticism, and positive reinforcement. People believe in the changes they want to see. I am that change. I want to devote more time into making this campus better than ever. I believe if we all collectively think as well as combine our ideas, the job will get done and will be beyond satisfactory, while showing respect to everyone. I also, will respect my competitors, or better yet teammates. Although I may not win, I will still be supportive and contribute as many ideas as I can. By setting this example, I will already have implemented change. Change that people can be on one accord, while keeping the campus first.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
As a member of the homecoming court I intend to represent CSU in the best way that I know how, by being myself. I will remain honest, have an open-mind & heart, stay humble, and act as a leader at all times. I believe that a member of the Homecoming court should behave in a sophisticated and professional manner while still being able to connect with the student body in a fun positive way! I will make it my responsibility to uphold these values by serving as a positive role model for upcoming student leaders, a vessel of service in the community, and a student not afraid to show their love for Clayton State University!

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Clayton state is a school of many opportunities, potential connections, leadership roles, and lasting relationships. During my time here at CSU I have been blessed enough to encounter all of these. Growing up in Chicago, Il and then moving to Ga shortly before college was a major culture shock for me. I would have never imagined that I would have accomplished so much here in such a little time. Clayton State has been an amazing platform for me to shine and work towards my full potential. Attending school here has brought me out of my shell and opened me up to new things. I am no longer afraid to take chances because Clayton has taught me that you miss out on one hundred percent of every chance that you don't take. I could never ask for a better institution to go to because CSU has become my home and it definitely has helped make my dreams come real!

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
If elected Miss Clayton State University I will make it my duty to spread the truth of self love. For most, if asked "What do you love?", it would take sometime before they mention themselves. Typically, when people talk about love they only mention the "pretty parts" or romantic side. We rarely speak on loving ourselves and what that takes, and how difficult that can be for some. That's a conversation that needs to be had and something I believe we need a lot more of at CSU. Whether its just a conversation or actual acts of. Love came to me as what should be my platform because that's what was the focus of Jesus message on Earth. To love him, others, and ourselves! So if that's what leads my life, which is my faith, it only makes sense to implement change by starting there. I intend on hosting events to teach self investment, encourage my peers to believe in their power, and remind the CSU student body that love is the ultimate healing component.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
If I were chosen as a member of Clayton State University Homecoming Court, I would represent the school to the best of my abilities. I have always promoted Clayton State as a school where dreams are made real. I am well aware of the programs and opportunities this school has to offer. I know and have built numerous relationships with the students, faculty and staff. I take pride in my school, and helping to make it a better place for all students. I support and promote team spirit and I would be honored to represent the student body as a whole. I would demonstrate how being an involved student at CSU has helped to shape me into a servant leader. I can bring my diverse roots to the school, to help promote the diversity we try to implement on campus. !

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Being a student at Clayton State University has made a lot of my dreams become reality. CSU has given me numerous opportunities to grow as an individual and a servant leader. Becoming a Laker Insider for the Admissions office has assisted me with becoming familiar with the campus, faculty and staff, while engaging with incoming students. It has given me a chance to learn about all the resources and opportunities the university has to offer. While at Clayton State, I have accomplished my dream of becoming a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I have overcome my fear of public speaking by participating in the Miss Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship Pageant where I was chosen to represent the Omicron Omega chapter as their reigning queen. I have impacted students through community engagement classes and diversity as a community assistant for the housing department and an Interfaith Leadership Ambassador. Being at CSU has expanded my horizon and shown me what I'm capable of.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
If elected to be the next Miss Clayton State University I would ensure that all students understand the importance of Fulfilling our Legacy by Inspiring Growth Harmony and Tradition. These components are key in ensuring that our beloved University remains true to its core values. If privileged to be the next Miss Clayton State University I will implement a month event entitled the Queen’s Corner where all students can gather in a safe space and discuss current issues that are affecting our society. Also, as a student leader I strongly believe that Clayton state students are the leaders of our community. Therefore, a community service target initiative I would like to implement is educating my peers and community on Alzheimer’s disease. Without steady progress on campus and in the community we will never truly see any change made.

How would you represent Clayton State as a member of the Homecoming Royal Court?
The reason I feel I should represent the title, "Mr. Clayton State", is because I really feel that during my time at Clayton I have lived to the slogan set forth, "Dreams made real". I am truly a dream made real by Clayton State. Growing up around the corner from Clayton, in Forest Park, I've always dreamed of making an impact at Clayton State and since I've been here I've been able to do that. Going back into my community, I will represent Clayton State in a positive manner. I will impact campus as well, from being a Community Assistant in housing by reaching out to the younger residents and providing community service with my fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. Clayton State has truly assisted me in making my dream real. It would be a complete honor to hold the prestigious title of Mr. Clayton State.

How has Clayton State University allowed for your dreams to be made real?
Clayton State has allowed me to explore options for a successful career path while building life long friendships along the way. This school's diverse environment has exposed me to different conditions which have allowed me to identify the learning method that works best for me. To add to diversity, I have been provided with many opportunities to explore cultures outside my own. These elements have added to a firm foundation to adapt when needed.

How do you plan to implement change through your position, if elected?
As Mr. Clayton State, I will institute more programs to further the experience for every individual at Clayton State. I feel that the foundation and progress made by past Mr. Clayton States gives me the stepping stone to continue implementing the diverse, interactive community aspect. Implementing change here on campus will begin with me, I will lead by example along with other individuals that are excited to impact the community of Clayton State. Clayton State is full of impactful, intellectual, and talented students that are capable of accomplishing anything possible, but to have a leader showing them that it is possible, will only exemplify and multiply their results.
