The focus of this course is to expand the registered nurses knowledge and skills by applying information related to new technology, common health illnesses, effective interventions, current nursing trends, and legalities to previously acquired formal education and skills competency. The 40-hour theory portion of the course is followed by a 160-hour supervised clinical component in an acute care setting. Participants are required to complete all components of this course to reinstate their license with the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Crystal Marchant brings 23 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in various areas with a heavy concentration in nursing education. Prior to becoming a Registered Nurse, she functioned as a Nursing Assistant for six years in a large, local hospital. A United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR) decorated veteran, Crystal served for 10 years as a clinical nurse with a final rank of major.
Crystal graduated with an Associate’s degree in Nursing from Gordon State College. She is also a proud alumna of Clayton State University and Walden University where she earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Nursing. Crystal is a faculty member with Continuing Education where she teaches the RN- Re-entry program.
Crystal has been married 22 years and has three wonderful teenagers 14, 17 and 19. She enjoys scuba diving, teaching, serving as a volunteer, humanitarian missions and traveling.

Eligibility Requirements: It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Board of Nursing prior to enrollment to ensure eligibility for reinstatement. Legal issues, disciplinary actions, a background check with misdemeanors/felonies, or any health issues which may preclude clinical in an acute care setting should be discussed with the Board of Nursing before enrolling in this course. Students are encouraged to ensure that all Board of Nursing requirements are addressed prior to enrolling.
