Sarah Pitts Holmes is the Executive Administrator for an OB/GYN practice and Clinical Research Facility. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Southern Wesleyan University in 1983. Having twenty eight years of experience as a practice administrator has allowed her to manage her practice effectively as well as assist her physician. She strives to keep the practice on the cutting edge of medical technology and clinical research.
Sarah has achieved many accomplishments in her career as an administrator. She was conferred with the title of Certified Medical Manager, Healthcare Compliance Officer, Certified Practice Manager, HIPPA Compliance Specialist, and Certified Coding Specialist. Sarah has been honored twice as Medical Manager of the year and selected as a member of Who’s Who of Professional Business Women and Who’s Who Historical Society of Professionals. She sits on the National Advisory Board of (PAHCOM) Professional Association of Healthcare Office Management and is the current president of the Atlanta Chapter.
Sarah has been on the Continuing Education faculty at Clayton State University for five years where she teaches the Medical Coding Specialist Certificate Program.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Teaching Methodology and Assessment: Teaching methodology includes lecture, discussions, power point presentations, real life experiences and case studies. Assessment will be based on discussion participation, homework assignments, quizzes, midterm exam and final exams.
Criteria for Successful Completion: To receive a Clayton State University Center for Continuing Education certificate and CEUs, you must attend 80% of all class sessions, actively participate and complete a course evaluation. In addition you must complete all assignments and pass quizzes, mid-term exam and final exam with average of 70 or above according to the criteria below.
Students will have 1 midterm and 1 final exam at the end of the course and any other quizzes given by instructor.

There is a required pre-assessment test of Math and English. The test will be offered after the Information Session.
