Learning Support Students:
Any student required to take MATH 0988, MATH 0989, MATH 0998, MATH 0999, and/or ENGL 0999 will be placed on Learning Support probation if he or she fails the course the first time it is taken.
Students who do not successfully complete MATH 0988 or MATH 0989 within two attempts will be dismissed from the University for a minimum of one year. An “attempt” is any course enrollment that results in a grade other than W or V. (IP is considered an attempt.)
Upon dismissal, students may appeal for one additional attempt. However, appeals will only be considered in extreme extenuating circumstances when there is compelling evidence of a high likelihood of success in the final attempt with the endorsement of the course instructor.
Following the one-year dismissal period, students may re-apply to the University and file an appeal for readmission. All appeals must be filed with the Readmission Appeals Committee in the Registrar’s Office.
Attempts at Learning Support courses are cumulative within the University System of Georgia.
