Clayton State University is committed to being an environmentally conscious community by recycling and properly disposing of hazardous materials.

Paper, Aluminum and Plastics Clayton State University supplies paper, aluminum and plastic recycling bins throughout the campus and currently employs the services of Waste Management, Inc. http://www.wm.com

Toner Cartridges Clayton State recycles toner cartridges by shipping the used cartridges back to the vendor of purchase. Please contact Dirk Morrell at (678) 466-4251 for detailed instructions.

Batteries Facilities Management stores batteries in an approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.

Tires Goodyear currently handles the recycling of all tires for Clayton State University.

Automotive Oil Facilities Management stores used oil in a 250 gallon approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.

Kitchen Grease Dining Services stores used grease in a 250 gallon approved container. Auxiliary Services contracts with Griffin Industries to recycle the used grease.

Pallets Clayton State University recycles wooden pallets through a contractor.

Fluorescent Lamps/Ballast Facilities Management stores fluorescent lamps and ballasts in an approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.

Computers/Monitors Clayton State University recycles monitors, CPUs and components through the state surplus process.

Cell Phones Clayton State University recycles old cell phones through a program sponsored by Public Safety. Recycle bins are located in the LakerCard office.
