A FRIEND'S HOUSE
All children need a home to provide a sense of security and unconditional love. Unfortunately, for many children, “home” is a place devoid of these necessities. A Friend’s House operates as a home for children in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services or the Juvenile Court System.
Residents stay for an unspecified length of time while a best course of action is determined based on a child’s assessment needs. Individuals or small groups can work directly with the children or assist the staff behind the scenes. Volunteers must be 21 years of age to work directly with children, required to complete an orientation class, and must pass a police background check.

Angkor Resource Center, Inc (ARC) is a Social Services Center/Multi-Cultural Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) Organization that serves low-income Asian-Americans, Hispanics and other ethnic groups in Clayton & Henry Counties.

ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) currently distributes nearly two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month to more than 700 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. ACFB supports a wide range of people in need, from children to the working poor. Food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers are among the agencies that receive product from the Food Bank and provide food and other critical resources for low-income Georgians who suffer from hunger and food insecurity. The Food Bank also operates several community projects to aid our agencies in community building, technical assistance and advocacy efforts. ACFB relies on more than 15,000 volunteers every year. Individual volunteers and volunteer groups lend support to our day-to-day operations as well as lending their time and talents to special events and other opportunities.

C.T.C stands for Connecting Through Christ. We are a new, Christian based networking and event planning business that hosts upscale corporate events, youth events, business mixers, gospel showcases, clean comedy shows and professional networking events to help raise funds for community agencies. THE CALVIN CENTER
Located in Hampton, Georgia, the Calvin Center offers a variety of equestrian programs including therapeutic, recreational and summer camp riding programs. Volunteers are needed to serve in many roles such as: horse leaders; side walkers; grooming; arena assistant; feeding, training and other administrative tasks.
Help take care of the horses, the equipment and facilities, and also assist in the riding classes by serving as "leaders" - whose primary responsibility is the behavior of the horse - and as "sidewalkers" - whose primary responsibility is the safety of the participant. Volunteers also support the program by providing other important services, such as clerical assistance, construction and maintenance assistance, fund-raising assistance, grant writing assistance, trail development, etc. Volunteer training sessions are scheduled throughout the year. Camp Twin Lakes provides life-changing, therapeutic, recreational and medically-supportive camp experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges.

Caminar Latino is a local comprehensive domestic violence program who serves the Latino community and families in the metro Atlanta area. Recently, Caminar Latino has begun a music program for youth witnesses of domestic violence aged 7 to 16 because we believe in the transformational qualities of music in healing and in the prevention of violence in future generations as well as assisting youth in goal setting and completion of school. We are currently seeking volunteers for the youth music program on Wednesday nights, ideally from 5:30pm-7:00pm but volunteers may also come in from 6:00pm-7:00pm. The ideal candidates are those who possess skills with piano, drums, guitar, bass, and mandolin. We believe this is a great opportunity for students to make change in the community and youth’s lives as well as for students to gain experience in teaching youth. Easter Seals is the leading non-profit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical and mental disabilities and other special needs. Easter Seals North Georgia provides high-quality services to ensure that all children with disabilities, or other special needs, and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. Easter Seals has been providing services to children in Georgia for more than 50 years.
Each day, Easter Seals North Georgia delivers comprehensive education and child care to more than 2,500 children (birth to five years old) with disabilities and special needs. We provide programs to low-income children to ensure that they have equal opportunities in their communities.
Children with disabilities and special needs find high-quality services designed to meet their individual needs when they come to Easter Seals. Teams of therapists, teachers and other health professionals help each child overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Treak or Treat Trot 5k Run
Easter Seals North Georgia’s 6th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trot event and fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 9:00am. The 5K and Fun Run unite hundreds of Atlanta-area participants at Gwinnett Convention Center to raise funds and awareness for young children with disabilities. This event is a fun way to bring awareness to the many issues affecting North Georgia’s disability community.
This family-friendly event is also an opportunity to provide a safe trick-or-treating experience for all children, including those with disabilities and special needs. In addition to the 5K and Fun Run, Trick-or-Treat Trot will have costume contests, arts and crafts, face painting, prizes and more.

THE GREATER WORKS NETWORKS
The Greater Works Networks is a Christian community service organization that provides science based social programs that connect communities, strengthen families, and empower at-risk individuals to do greater works. We are in need of interns and volunteers to assist with program implementation and fundraising efforts.
We provide necessary training, uniform, for all program and fundraising opportunities. We ask that our volunteers dedicate four six-hour shifts (24 volunteer hours) to fundraising events on the calendar in addition to program implementation dates. HOSEA FEED THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS
Founded in 1971 by civil rights icons Rev. Hosea and Juanita T. Williams, Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless Food (HFTH), has distributed more than $3 billion in food, clothing, medical, educational, toiletries, furniture and cleaning supplies to 16 Georgia counties, three states, the Philippines, the Ivory Coast and Uganda. HFTH prevents homelessness by providing rent, mortgage, and utility assistance, financial literacy and GED classes, distribution of school supplies and book bags to children, annual Christmas children's party, intensive case management and support to programs to teach recipients how to develop small businesses and co-ops while providing leadership training to independent farmers.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF GEORGIA
Junior Achievement has volunteer opportunities at our Chick-fil-a Foundation Discovery Center. This would be a wonderful way to engage Clayton State University staff and students as JA aims to help middle school students see the relevance of their education as it relates to financial literacy and work readiness. Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center houses two interactive simulations, JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. These simulations provide metro Atlanta middle school students with a dynamic learning experience designed to enhance financial literacy and build skills for professional success. During their visit, volunteers guide students as they progress through the program and discover how these vital skills with help prepare them for future success.
- Students go to ‘work’ for the day at one of 18 businesses to apply the knowledge they gained in the classroom through an authentic and immersive simulation. Here students discover a deeper understanding of careers, the economy, and basic business concepts.
- Volunteers are assigned to a business and guide a group of 5-7 students as they complete a day’s work.
JA Finance Park
- Students receive a ‘life situation’ and work to design a balanced household budget living within the means that are assigned to them as part of their adult persona.
- Volunteers serve as personal financial advisors for the day, coaching students through the decisions they need to make.

SOUTHERN CRESCENT SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER
The mission of Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center is to provide a collaborative, coordinated, community response in an effort to reduce the incidence of child maltreatment and sexual violence through prevention, intervention, and education.
Volunteers are essential to our efforts to assist sexual assault and child abuse victims. Our volunteers can assist with ongoing projects or one-time events. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist with prevention education and awareness programs, insuring our message reaches all audiences. SOUTHWEST KEY PROGRAMS
Southwest Key Programs works with community partners to recruit a culturally diverse population of committed mentors. Our organization utilizes our extensive community network to recruit mentors from within the youth’s surrounding community reaching out to extended family, neighbors, teachers, coaches, religious and community leaders and employers.
Mentors commit to serve as role models for their assigned mentee for a minimum of one year, providing support, encouragement and pro-social lifestyle development opportunities. They act as a resource and confidant to youth when personal and education problems occur and may coordinate meetings with Southwest Key staff and parents, teachers, and other natural supports. Mentors also provide transportation for mentees to and from mentoring activities, as needed.

KEENAN'S KIDS FOUNDATION
Keeping children safe is the primary mission of Keenan’s Kids Foundation, an established non-profit located in Atlanta, Ga. The Foundation is seeking community support for a special project called the Murphy House Project, named after a local family who has adopted 23 special needs children; many with Down syndrome, autism, blindness and other fragile medical conditions.
Currently 17 Murphy children live in the home that the Foundation and the community helped to build five years ago. Keenan’s Kids Foundation’s needs your help in securing the future of the Murphy children by retiring the mortgage on the home so trust funds can be established for each child, thereby, eliminating the possibility of these siblings ever being separated. We are launching a “Dining to Donate” campaign in October, nationally recognized as Down syndrome month. Southern Crescent Sports Foundation (H.O.P.E. Park- Helping Other People Excel)
Southern Crescent Sports Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is building a 26 acre park in Clayton County open to everyone in the Southern Crescent area. This park when completed, will have eight ball fields, one of which will be a competitive wheelchair softball field to help reintegrate wounded veterans and citizens into competitive sports. This field will double as a Miracle League field so that children and adults with special needs can play baseball in a safe environment. There will be a 30,000 square foot all accessible playground, a community garden, a certified commercial kitchen, and youth work development programs.
We are in search of volunteers to help us build the park. There are many opportunities to help throughout the year.
