On Wednesday, October 11, the Department of Campus Life in collaboration with the CSU Gay-Straight Alliance and Diversity Education Experience for Peers (D.E.E.P.) will celebrate the 29th anniversary of National Coming Out Day. National Coming Out Day is an annual civil awareness day internationally observed to recognize members of the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters to promote a world safe for individuals to live truthfully and openly.
Despite advances toward equality, the act of “Coming Out” continues to be an act of bravery because of the discrimination and ostracism faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Clayton State University seeks to make it an opportunity for inclusion and celebration as well. The entire Clayton State community is invited join us at the Lawson Amphitheater on Wednesday October 11th between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm for music, resources and a celebration of identities.
