Sororities and Fraternities are value-based social Greek-letter organizations that promote academic achievement, leadership development, philanthropic and community advocacy, personal development and lifelong friendships.
Recruitment is the process by which Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity (ΑΚΛ) host events and activities for potential new members and sorority/fraternity chapters to get to know each other well enough to make an important lifetime choice of sorority/fraternity membership. The Recruitment process usually lasts 3-5 days and ends with a Bid Day, the day in which the Greek organizations offers a potential new member membership into their organization.
Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity is a member of the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC).
Formal Recruitment Week is hosted during the Fall of each academic term.

** The historically African-American sororities of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta; the fraternities of Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, and Phi Beta Sigma select potential new members through a process called Membership Intake and do not participate in Formal Recruitment Week.
