Dr. Lou X. Orchard, CPA, is an Associate Professor of Accounting in Clayton State University’s College of Business, where he has served since August 2008. His research has been published in the Journal of Business & Economics Research, Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management Journal, Journal of Applied Business Research, Business Journal for Entrepreneurs, Journal of Business Case Studies, and the Journal of College Teaching and Learning. He is the recipient of the 2010 Teaching Professor of the Year Award from Clayton State University’s College of Business. Lou's professional experience includes work as a consultant for Ernst & Young, one of the four largest accounting firms in the world. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Arizona.

Undergraduate - Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Managerial Cost Accounting, Auditing and Assurance Services, Advanced Financial Accounting.
Graduate - Core Concepts in Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting.
Research interests: Auditing (emphasis in industry-specific internal controls), Behavioral Economic Issues in Managerial Accounting.
Committee service: Chair, Clayton State University College of Business Assessment Committee; Clayton State University Alice Smith Faculty Award Committee (Chair, 2012-2014); Faculty Advisor, College of Business Accounting Club.
