Carin A. Lightner-Laws is an Assistant Professor of Management and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business at Clayton State University. She holds a Ph. D. in Operations Research-Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University, an M.O.R. in Operations Research-Mathematics from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Mathematics from North Carolina Central University. Lightner-Laws has over seven years of consulting experience in the area of transportation/logistics and operations management. Lightner-Laws’ current research and teaching interests are in the area of Quality Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Management Principles, and Logistics/Transportation Optimization. Current research activities are focused on issues surrounding the use of heuristic approaches to solve constrained vehicle route optimization problems. She is currently a member of the Decision Sciences Institute and Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
