Ali Dadpay, Ph.D., is the Director of CREST, Director of Global Initiatives, and an Associate Professor of Economics in Clayton State University’s College of Business, where he has previously served as Assistant Dean and MBA Director. Ali enjoys teaching a variety of economics and business statistics courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a passionate economist who enjoys research. His articles on mixed oligopoly theories and applications have appeared in Eastern Economic Journal, Applied Economics Quarterly and Australian Economic Papers. He has also investigated an information content based search criteria for generalized distribution families. A paper based on this study has been published by the Journal of Econometrics. In 2012, he was part of the Center for Research in Economic Sustainability and Trends (CREST) where he studied and analyzed the economic impact of Fayette County Public School System on the regional economy. The study was used by Fayette County Board of Education (FCBOE) and other public officials. Ali is also an active participant in academic gatherings and associations where he presents his research findings. He writes actively for the media and has appeared in print in outlets such as the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor and Global Monitor. He holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Virginia Tech. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
