Call for Nominations
The Clayton State University Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations for the 2013 Alumni Achievement Awards for the following categories: Distinguished Alumnus, Recent Graduate Alumnus, and Outstanding “Future” Alumnus. The recipients will be honored at the annual awards dinner on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
The Alumni Association seeks to recognize the University’s alumni and alumnae who have made significant contributions to society, and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have honored the legacy of excellence at the University.
Students can get in in the action too! The Outstanding Future Alumnus category recognizes an outstanding current student. Don't forget to nominate standout students who display strong leadership abilities and bleed orange and blue.

Clayton State Alumni Association Announces its New Slate of Officers
The Clayton State Alumni Association held its Officer Installation Ceremony on Thursday, Apr. 25, in Spivey Hall, marking the first time the Alumni Association conducted a separate standalone event to honor outgoing officers and recognize the incoming ones. Beginning July 1, the new slate of officers will be as follows (left to right): Lanelle LaRue, President; Larry Jordan, Vice President; Marvin H. Bailey, Jr., Secretary; Jenny L. Rice, Treasurer. Congratulations to your new officers!
Meet Clayton State’s New Director of Alumni Relations
Clayton State University recently welcomed its new Director of Alumni Relations: Leila (pronounced Layla) Tatum. Leila brings more than six years’ experience in higher education advancement and more than 10 years’ experience managing people and programs and building relationships.
In her new role, Leila will oversee programs related to Clayton State’s 20,000 graduates. Among her duties as the Alumni Director are working with the alumni board to increase participation, volunteerism and community outreach; creating programs that connect alumni to current students and each other; planning and implementing events for alumni and friends to enjoy; and serving as a liaison between the University and its alumni.

The Clayton State University Alumni Association is actively recruiting individuals for our Board of Directors. The Alumni Association Board is a valued partner in the process of strategically advancing the mission of the University. The role of the Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Office of Alumni Relations and the University administration concerning programs, activities, and other matters of interest to alumni and members of the Association. The Board members also serve as ambassadors for the institution in their respective communities. Click
