The Office of Student Community Standards is recruiting interested staff members to serve on the University Hearing Panel (UHP) for 2016-2017 Academic Year. The University Hearing Panel is comprised of Clayton State students, faculty, and staff, and convenes throughout the academic year to adjudicate cases of student academic and general misconduct.
Participation on the Hearing Panel requires initial training and then a monthly commitment of between 2-5 hours each month, with hearings usually held on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the semester. This is a great opportunity to expand your service to the University. Current hearing panel members and those who have served previously in that role have expressed that they learned a great deal about the institution and the rights of students and faculty.
To learn more about the Hearing Panel Member role and/or Student Community Standards, please review the included attachment and visit our website http://www.clayton.edu/community-standards.
If you are interested in being a part of the UHP, please fill out the brief application form at https://claytonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0UFqnX0tD6drbbD by Friday August 26, 2016.
Mandatory training for UHP members will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 1 pm to 4 pm in UC 312.
Please note that if you are unable to attend the training on Friday, September 16th, you will not be able to serve on the hearing panel for the fall 2016 semester. We will offer the next training in the early Spring 2017.
