Faculty and Staff Safe Space Training, Thursday, September 24, from noon to 1:30 p.m.in the Student Activities Center Lounge.
The Faculty and Staff Safe Space Training is sponsored by the Department of Campus Life and Counseling and Psychological Services to create a supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) members of the campus community, to educate the campus about the LGBT communities, and to increase the visible presence of LGBT allies and locations that are “safe” for LGBT students across campus. At the end of the training, each participant will be given a Certificate of Completion. Individuals that chose to become allies to the communities will also be given a Safe Space sticker to post in their offices, homes or on their backpacks or binders. In general, by attending this training, all participants will enhance their multicultural competency and can use this information to be successful in their professional careers. Feel free to bring your lunch to the training!
