The Arts and Sciences Building HVAC renovation project for the first floor is starting on Monday, May 18, 2015 and is tentatively scheduled for completion by the first week in August, 2015. The Arts and Sciences second floor HVAC renovation was completed last summer during the summer break. There are no classes scheduled in the Arts and Sciences Building for the summer. First floor faculty and staff have been relocated to the second floor for the duration of the project.
Please note that the Arts and Sciences Building will be locked from 5 p.m. in the evening to 8 a.m. in the morning on weekdays. The building will be locked at all times during weekends. Students taking evening classes will need to make arrangements with their instructors for access to the building.
Additionally, the Arts and Sciences Building will be closed with no access to either first or second floors from May 20 through May 22, due to the asbestos removal work that is scheduled for the first floor. The asbestos abatement on the first floor will continue until May 26, however safe access to the second floor will be available after May 22 via elevator and the stairwell on the south side of the building.
We appreciate your support and patience while we complete the HVAC renovation project for the Arts and Sciences building.
Please contact the Facilities Management department with any questions related to the HVAC renovation project and contact the Public Safety department for any building access related questions.
