Dear Clayton State Student:
During your time at Clayton State, we want you to have one of the best and most positive experiences in your life. This includes being in a safe environment. It also includes having each of us assume our share in the responsibility for creating and maintaining that safe campus environment.
In the spring of 2014, I established and charged a group at Clayton State called the “Campus Sexual Violence Task Force” with assessing campus safety and making recommendations on how we may improve in this area. I received the committee’s report in June 2014 and accepted all of their recommendations, and I shortly thereafter established an implementation committee (http://www.clayton.edu/human-resources/Institutional-Equity/Reports). One of the recommendations is to conduct a student climate survey on campus safety, sexual assault and unwelcome sexual contact.
I hope you will participate in Clayton State’s safety survey on sexual assault and unwelcome sexual contact. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be kept confidential and anonymous and will not be linked to you in anyway. All information collected on the survey will be used only for helping to prevent sexual assault and unwelcomed sexual contact on and off campus. It can do much to help us frame strategies for making us a better place to learn and live. You may access the survey by clicking on this link: https://claytonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2mGAHqqzbTpyIjH.
Please complete the online survey by Friday, Apr. 10. Inquiries about the survey may be made to the University Office of Institutional Equity in the Department of Human Resources -- Tom Gausvik, Chief Human Resources Officer & Title IX Coordinator (email@example.com) or Nikia Yallah, Assistant Director & Deputy Title IX Coordinator (NikiaYallah@clayton.edu), phone: 678-466-4230, or to the Division of Student Affairs – Jeff Jacobs, Dean of Students (JeffJacobs@clayton.edu), phone: 678-466-5444.
Once again, thanks in advance for your participation.
Dr. Tim Hynes
President, Clayton State University
