Grady Memorial Hospital - Out of Network
Attention Blue Cross Blue Shield Participants:
We received notification that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and Grady Memorial Hospital were unable to reach an agreement in order for Grady to continue with BCBSGA as an in-network provider. As of November 24, 2014, Grady Memorial Hospital is out of network.
How does this impact USG members?
For Emergency care services only, benefits are available at the in-network coverage level, but may be subject to balance billing (the difference between the provider’s charge and the allowed amount). BCBSGA has directly notified USG members who received services from Grady Hospital in the last six months and provided a list of other network hospitals available to them (please see below). A complete list of providers is available at www.bcbsga.com/usg under the Find A Doctor tool.

Continuity of Care Benefits
Continuity of Care benefits are available for USG members. Under this benefit, USG members may be allowed to continue treatment at in-network benefit levels for a period of time even though the facility is now out-of-network. In order to qualify, the member must currently be in active treatment with Grady Memorial Hospital for a specific medical condition. To see if you qualify or if you have other questions or concerns, members can speak with a BCBSGA representative for further assistance at (800) 424-8950.
BCBSGA will provide updates on the status of this provider from their website at: www.bcbsga.com/networkstatus.
